butch The local daily papers here in Nassau reported yesterday that Howard "Butch" Kerzner, 42-year-old son of resort magnate Sol Kerzner, was killed in a helicopter accident in the Dominican Republic.


Kerzner was the CEO of Kerzner International--developer of the Atlantis resort on Paradise Island--and apparently was on a scouting trip for locations for a new One & Only Resort.


The entire Kerzner organization feels the loss deeply, as Butch was not only an affable guy and well-liked by peers and business associates, but he was the visionary future of the resort development company. Kerzner leaves behind a wife and two young children.


Truly a sad day for the Bahamas.
