Young sailors will take to Montagu Bay here in Nassau for the Royal Bank of Canada Junior National Optimist Sailing Championships, Sept 23-24. If you happen to be in town that weekend and enjoy a good regatta now and then, keep your eyes on the Bay for the white sails.

The Championships mark the second year in a row that Royal Bank has stepped up as lead sponsor for the event. Thanks to the efforts of several key people--Jimmie Lowe, Francisco DeCardenas, and John Lawrence--junior sailing in the Bahamas is once again gaining momentum.

Christopher Sands won last year's inaugural event, followed by Ben Myers, Dylan Christie, and Bianca Wagner Illing.
