Tragically, the 20-year-old son of celebrity Anna Nicole Smith died at Doctor's Hospital here in Nassau on Sunday, apparently of a massive heart attack. He was keeping his mother company while she gave birth to a new daughter, whose father is yet unnamed.

This tragedy comes just three days after Smith gave birth to a daughter at Doctor's. News reports indicate that Smith wanted the anonymity that the Bahamas offers celebrities. Bahamians, in general, welcome celebrities to the islands but do not fawn over them or send swarms of paparazzi to record their every move. Anna Nicole is just the latest in a long line of international celebs to seek haven in the Bahamas.


Authorities here in Nassau have begun an investigation into the death of 20-year-old Daniel, and have indicated that an autopsy will be done to try to determine the exact cause of his death. They have already indicated that foul play, drugs, or alcohol do not seem to be involved.



Questions linger, however, due to the freakish nature of a heart attack for a 20-year-old. If drugs and alcohol are ruled out completely, authorities will likely try to pinpoint some type of previously undetected heart condition that led to Daniel's premature death.
