What to do on a cold day in the Bahamas. For us here cold is 65 degrees, and you will see the Bahamians wandering around with hats, gloves and coats at that temperature. My parents still can't believe how quickly a tough 'Yorkshire Girl' can change into someone who doesn't like the temperature to go below 70!!!

Well anyway what to do, if you are married to my husband you get to write a blog!!!!

If however your not, you get to do a whole lot of other things:
* If you are staying at one of the large resorts in Nassau, they of course have a full programme for you, but, if you want to get out of the hotel you could try going to the Bacardi Rum Factory, where you get a tour of the plant where our local rum is produced - at the end of the tour you can sample some of the rum (I always seem to lose my guests for the daywhen they go there).

*There are plenty of places to go shopping. Downtown Nassau has plenty of jewellery shops as well as designer clothes and handbag shops. The Strawmarket has designer copies and other nik-nacs for you to buy at bargain prices

Marina Village over on Paradise Island has a lot of the same shops as downtown but in a nicer setting, as well as some good bars and restaurants. There is also a Starbucks there, where we love to go and sit and watch the world go past (Shout out to all who work there - Shaun and the gang).

But my favourite thing to do (when I can get away from blog writing) is to go for a long lunch with friends. My favourite restaurant in Nassau is Cafe Matisse, it's just perfect - from the atmosphere, to the service and food, everything is wonderful. It is always busy so it's best to book a table, even at lunchtime. It's very popular with the local Lawyers and Business people as its near to the Law Courts, but you get a good mix in there. Out at the back is a great garden for eating Al Fresco, and there is a room upstairs if you are having a private party. The prices are (I think) reasonable for the level of food and service and my favourite things are the 'Warm Parmesan Terine' and the 'Dark and White Chocolate Mouse Cake' mmmmm.
